VINE PRAYER: PRAY GOD’S WORD FOR NOW FAITH WHEN GOD IS DOING A NEW THING

Lord Jesus, You removed the veil from our minds. You allowed us to see how the lies we believed held us bound. You offered us freedom and wholeness in seeing our lives from your perspective.

And we grabbed hold.

We agreed with You that You have better for us. And that it takes a renewing of our minds to walk in it. It takes a new mind to believe our God is doing a new thing in us.

You’re making roads in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

But we need now faith to leave our barren thinking behind.

We can’t put new wine into old wineskins, and we can’t use yesterday’s measure of faith for the new thing you’re doing. You said faith is the substance of things hoped for.

So, Lord, we ask You for fresh hope, the building block of now faith.

Hope assuring us you’ll finish the work you’ve begun in us. And confidence, you’ll supply us with the grace to persevere.

We give thanks because You are good, and your mercy endures forever! It’s in your blessed name; we pray. Amen.

Prayer inspired by Isaiah 43:19.
