ME TOO!

But can I tell you something?

Not hearing how valuable, delightful, and loved you are by your parents is not an indictment against you. It’s not a statement of your worth. It’s a reflection of the brokenness of humanity—a reminder of your need for a Savior.

The one who, if you let Him, will graciously supply what one broken vessel couldn’t give you through another person who’s mended.

THE TOUGH PART

But it will take some breaking on your part to receive it. Not the breaking of your heart—you already suffered that—but the breaking of the wall put up to protect you from the hope that makes us all vulnerable to heartbreak. A wall you erected to help you, but it hurts you by condemning you to, “It’s not for me.”

Don’t worry. You don’t need to knock down the wall today. Just put a crack in it and watch Jesus do the rest.

So as the tears run down your face as they do mine, say to yourself, “Me too. I need to receive love, affection, acceptance, appreciation and affirmation, too. I’m not meant to do without. I’m not meant to just rejoice over others receiving them or giving those gifts to my children out of empathy. Jesus wants it for me, too.”

Because the only gifts you’ll receive from someone are the ones you believe yourself worthy of receiving.

Worth not based on what you deserve, but on what Jesus paid with His life to establish. Are you ready to embrace as much love, connection, and community as DADDY God wants to give you? Me too.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
