LUKE 2:1-7 NKJV
“And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.
Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
All that trouble. God orchestrating world events to maneuver Mary to Bethlehem.
All that travel. Positioned to fulfill the word spoken through the prophet Micah (Micah 5:2).
And “there was no room for them in the inn.”
Leaving the four walls of your home to deliver outside in a land days away.
What a hassle!
You don’t always receive a new perspective, experience or understanding of Jesus discreetly.
It doesn’t always fit in the box of our societal norms or religious traditions.
We often look at this account and pity the boy Child that no one had room for Him.
Maybe the revelation is that as God, He cannot be contained.
And by being born outside, He demonstrated He didn’t come to be a revelation for one but for all.
How is what Jesus is showing you also for others to know?
