Lord God, do You not see? Don’t You hear our cry?
Many are they that trouble us. Many are they that rise up against us. And many are they that say there is no help for us in You.
Lord, do not deliver us to the will of our adversaries!
They speak falsely—bringing reproach, shame and dishonor to our very humanity. They seek our hurt, breathing out violence against us.
But You said if You be for us, who can be against us?
Our adversaries are all before You. How long will they blaspheme your name? O God, hurry to help us!
Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek our hurt.
Grant us justice against our adversary!
We cry out; we cry out; we cry out for justice, but find none.
Our heads hang wearily, our souls crushed in despair, but we persist—by your grace.
And will You not bring about justice for your chosen ones, who cry out to You day and night? Will You keep putting us off?
No.
You, O Lord are our shield. Our glory and the lifter of our heads.
Fearing, we cling to the promise You are with us. You will strengthen us and will surely help us.
You will uphold us with your righteousness right hand and contend with those who contend with us.
From You, Lord, comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. It’s in Jesus’ righteous name, we pray. Amen!
Prayer inspired by Luke 18:7.
“I have no words right now.”
We’ve all been there. Life hands you a problem you can’t even put into words, much less solve. And whether you’re a longtime believer who’s discouraged, you’re new to faith in Christ or you’re wondering what this “Jesus stuff” is all about, talking with God about what you’re facing feels so far out of reach.
What if there were a way to making talking to God easier?
You may not know what to say or you may not want to pray. But if you’re overwhelmed, speechless, and confused about what to do next, Jesus wants to help you.
