One of the hardest things to keep straight is the Lord is nothing like the people we run into every day. He is altogether different. He is God. He is trustworthy.

Father, we thank You for this day you’ve made and for waking us up to see it. You’ve been good to us. Showing us kindness we don’t deserve because You delight in blessing your children.
And it grieves You when we doubt your heart toward us.
Day after day, we live guarded in a world promoting and pursuing self-destruction. And we’ve allowed the cruelty of this world to color how we see You. We forget though this world is fallen; You are not. There’s no darkness in You at all.
Your plans for us are good because You are good.
We’re sorry for doubting your heart. Daily You call us to the table You prepared for us in the presence of our enemy, but we’ve resisted—making up foolish excuses. Yet You still draw us because You know there’s no satisfaction, no life, apart from You.
Today, we turn from suspicion to surrender.
Holy Spirit, give us the wisdom to walk circumspectly in our dealings with people but compel us to surrender to our DADDY. We humble ourselves before You because the way we think is right, the tendency of our nature—leads to death.
But Father, You call us to feast at your table forever.
And we praise You as our Abba Father, who gives good gifts for your children to enjoy. Help us trust in You with all our heart. Help us see You as You really are.
It’s in the name of your son, Jesus, who gives full access to your table; we pray. Amen.
Prayer inspired by Luke 14:33.
“I have no words right now.”
We’ve all been there. Life hands you a problem you can’t even put into words, much less solve. And whether you’re a longtime believer who’s discouraged, you’re new to faith in Christ or you’re wondering what this “Jesus stuff” is all about, talking with God about what you’re facing feels so far out of reach.
What if there were a way to making talking to God easier?
You may not know what to say or you may not want to pray. But if you’re overwhelmed, speechless, and confused about what to do next, Jesus wants to help you.
