Father, the enemy would have us believe we’re vulnerable, that we’re at the mercy of petty people and surprising circumstances. He knows if we believe that, we’ll react to stressful situations as a victim rather than respond as a victor.
But your word says You surround us with favor as with a shield.
So, when the people and situations of life scream everything but favor. When they come against us contradicting what You say about us, we declare “let God be true and every man a liar.”
It’s up to us to raise the Truth, the Word of Christ, above everything else. It’s up to us to remember the favor we have with You—shielding us like a wall all around.
So, while we feel exposed, we’re not by your grace.
We thank You that as we abide in Jesus and His word abides in us; we bear much fruit. We bear the fruit of the Spirit, including self-control.
With the Holy Spirit’s guidance, we learn to possess our vessel and respond to the enemy behind attempts to dishonor and discredit us—from a place of power.
And because your Spirit lives in us, we’re no longer controlled by our fleshly desire to fall apart or retaliate.
We respond vs. react.
So Father, as we go into this week, we keep our shields up, aware the enemy goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He knows our pain points and wants us living triggered.
But we’re thankful you’ve given us a word to neutralize every one of them. And we’re going forward with You, steadfast, unmovable, and excelling in all You set our hands to.
We declare it so in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prayer inspired by Proverbs 25:28.
“I have no words right now.”
We’ve all been there. Life hands you a problem you can’t even put into words, much less solve. And whether you’re a longtime believer who’s discouraged, you’re new to faith in Christ or you’re wondering what this “Jesus stuff” is all about, talking with God about what you’re facing feels so far out of reach.
What if there were a way to making talking to God easier?
You may not know what to say or you may not want to pray. But if you’re overwhelmed, speechless, and confused about what to do next, Jesus wants to help you.
